Dr. Allen B. Wisner, V.M.D. (retired)
Dr. Allen Wisner graduated from the Univeristy of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1965. He started Green Glen as a mixed animal practice but three years later, decided to devote his practice exclusively to horses. Initially engaged in track work, Dr. Wisner was the sole practitioner at Green Glen Equine Hospital for almost 20 years. In 2002, one of Dr. Wisner's young patients became a local celebrity and earned him national and international attention when the thoroughbred 'Magic Weisner' (a misspelling of Dr. Wisner's name) lost the Preakness Stakes by 3/4 length to War Emblem and placed a respectable fourth in the Belmont Stakes.
Dr. Wisner turned over his practice in 2003 to his son, Dr. Wade Wisner, and is spending more time with his wife, Carolyn.
And don't forget our dedicated staff members operating 'behind the scenes': Beth Wisner, Sue Wood, Katherine Powder, Dave Lewis, Jess Cammauf, Steph Lecrone and Heather Supanick.
